Tom Dent Literary Festival Authors Showcase November 1 20, 2007 The Tom Dent Literary Festival took place at the New Orleans Public Library November 1-3, 2007. The three day event included an Authors Showcase, Storytelling with Angela the Yarnspinner and a Saturday afternoon Forum. The program was sponsored by the African American Resource Center with a grant from the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities and the generous support of the Friends of the New Orleans Public Library.

Author and actor Roscoe Orman, who stars as Gordon on the long running PBS program, Sesame Street, talked to the audience about his experiences as an actor and his time spent in New Orleans as a member of the Free Southern Theatre.
Following the author presentations, the authors answered questions from the audience. The Authors Showcase was the first evening program held at the Main branch of the New Orleans Public Library since Hurricane Katrina.
